How does one GAIN weight in a healthy manner?
I’m 34 years old and have weighed in at somewhere between 120 and 130 lbs. since I was in grade nine. I eat what I think is a normal amount for an adult, so it’s not a matter of needing to eat more, maybe better but not more. I have a hereditary fast metabolism, so I am sure that is a lot of the issue. However, I am geting married next September and for the first time in my life I care a little bit more about what I look like. I don’t want to be a body builder by any means but I would like to put a little weight and muscle on so I look noticably healthier for my wedding.
Looking for tips on diet and exercise that might promote a healthy weight gain. I know the questions usually go the other direction here, but any help you could

Should I really gain weight and what is the normal range for monthly weight gain?
I’m 17 years old, male, 5′10, 134 pounds, and the doctor as well as my mom and dad are suggesting that I should gain more weight. I am wondering what is the normal, healthy range for monthly weight gain if I am to follow a healthy diet?
try to get to at least 150.
I’m 6′1 and was 155 pounds, now I’m 170. Though I had Crohn’s and swam at least 6 some miles every day so that’s why I was skinny.
Don’t just eat lots of food, but healthy food as well. Pick up running and lifting to help you put on weight. And if your desperate for weight try protein shakes with a gym (but thats probably not you)
But yeah, increase calories and just do some regular lifting and that’ll help

I don’t mean from pregnancy either, but from general weight gain. I think it can probably happen, but I’ve never heard anyone talk about this before.
i think it CAN happen from weight gain in general. after all, if your breasts increase in size from the weight gain, it seems like your areolas would also have to get bigger too, especially if the weight gain was rapid and it caused your skin to stretch out. maybe you could even get stretch marks on your nipples! now thats a scary thought……

What supplement is the best to gain weight?
I am very active and am committing to a new weight lifting regiment. Need to know which type or brand of supplement will give me the quickest yield of weight gain. I also have a very high metabolism, and eat plenty of protein. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Consult the doc before taking any.
Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.
Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.
U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry.

I am needing to gain 10 pds atleast by September. I was wondering, what foods are good to promote weight gain and what about protein shakes? I tried one before and it seemed to help but was seeing if theres any other types of protein shakes that anyone else found sucessful? Thanks. I am naturally thin by the way and 26 yrs old.
If you are just so skinny that you want to gain fat to look like a healthy size, then ensure (grocery stores have it), cyproheptadine (you can get a prescription from a doctor for this) and high carb foods (pasta, cheese, etc.) will all help. I was 140 lbs and 6"3 at 25 years old and thats what finally worked for me. If you want to gain muscle, then thats not going to work and you should just listen to the first answer for that.

Talk about Jessica Simpson’s weight errupted recently after not-so-flattering shots were taken at a concert at a chili cookoff in FLorida. The singer, who was wearing a black tank, high-waisted jeans, and a patterned belt was immediately the target of fat jokes and ridicule. Following the media outburst, it wasn’t surprising that the blonde beauty had a mini-meltdown during her opening set for Rascal Flatts in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Apparently she lost her place in several songs and even forgot the words at one point, AFTERWHICH she mouthed that she was sorry and tearfully said that she was feeling really vulnerable onstage and that her voice was a bit weakened.
